Zappos Surprise

I’m stunned this morning but not by what you’d expect. I’m stunned by what Zappos.com did. Look at the gift they sent my assistant. A #GoPro Hero. Not because I’m a high volume customer. Not because they screwed something up (they didn’t). Just because my assistant and a woman in customer service had a connected conversation about their children. Seriously, I’m completely blown away. We give gifts to clients and colleagues often but usually because they are “special” in some way, not just because they were nice. Oh, and they didn’t do it because I have written NY Times and WSJ bestsellers or because I have a large audience of readers. Nope. They didn’t know any of this. They just did it because they care. Rosario did it because she enjoyed talking with Cate. Thank you #zappos and thank you Rosario.
