Celebrity Chefs Will use Olympic Leftovers To Feed Rio’s Poor

The kitchens at the Rio Olympics will serve up to 60,000 meals for the athletes during the games. Celebrity Chefs David Hertz and Massimo Bottura have come up with a plan to use the leftovers. They will collect an estimated 12 tons of leftover food from Olympic Village and distribute about 100 fully prepared meals each day during the games to the city’s favelas, or slums.
