The Road Less Traveled

It is so easy to be average.
To go with the crowd.
To avoid ruffling any feathers.
To do as you’re told.
To not make waves.
To keep your head down and follow the paved path.

But is the easy path the one you want to take? Or do you envision something more for your life?

The truth is, there’s nothing wrong with taking the easy path. It just doesn’t lead anywhere new. Or anywhere exciting.

The familiar path has been walked by thousands before you. It’s predictable. Comfortable. And, some might even say, boring.

On the other hand the road less traveled is NOT the easy road. It could be a dirt path or miles of thick brush. You may have to climb over rocks or trudge uphill through the mud. You might run into wild animals. There certainly won’t be anyone there to ask for directions.

So which road will you choose? Do you want to travel the same roads that others have already traversed? Or do you want to create your own path and live life on your terms?

Those that risk the perils of the road less traveled are the outliners, the dreamers, the doers and the achievers of our society. They are the ones who find new ways to do things. They are the ones who discover life-saving cures. They are the ones who develop new technologies and solve the world’s problems.

Because, the truth is, that if you want to do something that has never been done before, you can’t do things the same way everyone else is. Greatness is found in doing things differently.

You have the power to forge your own path and take that first step.

Every one of us has something unique to offer the world. The question is, are you willing to face the challenges on the road less traveled to bring your unique vision to life? Or will you follow the crowd and hope for the best?
